This role requires relevant skillset to conduct multi step synthesis, purification and analytical characterization of drugs like organic compounds to support execution of Medicinal chemistry plans. What are the key responsibilities of the role?

• On – bench independent execution of medicinal chemistry plans including new and repeat synthesis of NCEs, scale up of Intermediates and NCEs, troubleshooting with new synthetic routes.
• Interpret spectral data of synthesized compounds
• Be part of a focused research team under the Dept of Medicinal Chemistry at SPARC Drug Discovery located at Savli, Vadodara.
• Maintain Lab safety norms and also be part of the team to manage inventory of chemicals and pro-actively manage sourcing/ordering.
• Documentation of laboratory work (Reaction set up, work-up, purification, Analytical characterization, ELN maintenance, Experimental write-up).

Key Skills and Requirements

• MSc in Chemistry with specialization in Organic Chemistry / Drug Chemistry / Medicinal chemistry from premier Institutes with result of 1st class / >60% / CGPA >7.5.
• At least 2 to 5 years of research experience in synthetic organic chemistry from Academic Labs / relevant Pharma R&D e.g., Drug Discovery or MedChem CRO set up.
• Should have basic knowledge of functional group transformation in the core area of synthetic organic and heterocyclic chemistry.
• Experience in using chemistry drawing and ELN (electronic laboratory notebooks) systems.
